Two S.C. firefighters hit by car while on the job

Goose Creek, S.C. (WACH/AP)--Two firefighters from Goose Creek are recovering after being hit by a motorist late Tuesday.

According to Highway Patrol Cpl. Bob Beres the firefighters were working at the scene of an earlier accident on U.S. 176 when they were hit.

The firefighters were hit by twenty-five-year-old Jessica Lanier. She has been charged with driving under the influence. Lanier was being held at the Berkeley County Jail.

Both Fire Capt. Michael Althoff and fireman Christopher Harrison were released after being treated at Trident Medical Center.
