FORT JACKSON (WACH) -- The McWethy Troop Medical clinic at Fort Jackson gets a multi-million dollar facelift.
Officials say the Moncrief Army Community Hospital is designed to provide primary health care to all soldiers in training.
It’s been two years in the making. The renovated clinic costs nearly $21 million dollars and includes enhanced medical equipment such as x-ray machines to better serve a soldier while in training.
“Laboratory, state of the art radiology, behavioral health, medical records, all of the different entities so that soldiers can come here and get almost all of their treatment unless there is some special care that’s required to be done in the main hospital,” says Colonel Ramona Fiorey, Moncrief Army Community Hospital.
Major General James Milano Commanding General at Fort Jackson spoke at the ribbon cutting ceremony.
