AIKEN, S.C. (AP) -- Police say it wasn't hard to find the teens that stole Sassy the Hippo from an Aiken miniature golf course.

Authorities told The Aiken Standard that the teens tried to cover the bright purple hippo head with a sheet in the back of their pickup truck around 3 a.m. Thursday, but the sheet shifted enough so the hippo's large white teeth could be seen by an officer on patrol.

The officer pulled over the truck and charged the four teens with petit larceny.

Authorities say the hippo head was not damaged and has been returned to its home by the waterfall at the 10th hole at the Hole-N-One Family Fun Center.
