GASTON (WACH) -- Officials in Lexington County say a man was killed after being shot in the head Wednesday night at his home in Gaston.
The Lexington County Sheriff's Department says 64-year-old Leon W. Justice answered the door of his home on Victor Road around 10:30 p.m. to find two men on the front porch.
A witness, the owner of the home where Justice was staying, says she was in the kitchen when she heard Justice answer the door, saw a flash and heard a gunshot. Shortly after, she saw two men wearing ski masks.
Another witness at the home saw the suspects run to a dark pickup truck and drive away.
When deputies arrived, they found Justice on his back, breathing but unconscious.
