WEST COLUMBIA (WACH) -- The City of West Columbia is mourning the passing of Mayor Pro-Tem Jack L. Harmon.

Officials say Harmon passed away Monday September 19, 2011.

Mayor Pro-Tem Harmon had served on the city council since April 10, 2001 when he was elected to fill an unexpired term for Council District 3. 

He was reelected in 2005 and 2009 and served two terms as Mayor Pro-Tem.

Visitation for Mayor Pro-Tem Harmon will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 in the New Brookland Room at the West Columbia City Hall located at 200 N. 12th Street in West Columbia. 

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at Brookland United Methodist Church, 541 Meeting Street. 

Interment will be at Celestial Memorial Gardens located at 311 Delree Street in West Columbia.
