COLUMBIA (WACH) --  Some business owners across the Midlands taking part in the 5th Annual Green Is Good for Business Conference Tuesday.

The City of Columbia partnered with Department of Health and Environmental Control to host the event.

Organizers say the conference is all about improving the environmental footprint especially since the Midlands has an air quality ground level ozone problem.

"We're trying to teach businesses to conserve not be wasteful and to leave things for future generations," says Mary Pat Baldauf, organizer.

Organizers say educating business owners on ways to go green may help reduce unnecessary emissions and help the air quality in the Midlands.
