COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Gov. Nikki Haley has proclaimed September as Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month in South Carolina.
Haley is encouraging communities across the state to recognize the achievement of those who want to overcome addiction and get treatment.
In honor of the month, the group FAVOR SC is planning events including the 7th annual Dry Run Race/Walk Saturday in Columbia's Sims Park.
The race is part of the Columbia Running Club's Tour de Columbia series.
Registration for the event starts at 7:30 a.m. The race starts at 9 a.m.
