COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman has unveiled his South Carolina campaign finance team for his Republican presidential bid.

Huntsman said Thursday that real estate investor and former State Ports Authority Board chairman Bill Stern will lead his finance team. Stern said more than a month ago that he was supporting Huntsman.

Stern chaired former Gov. Mark Sanford's 2006 re-election finance committee and helped lead U.S. Sen. John McCain's 2008 campaign finance efforts in South Carolina. John Rainey, an investor and a Sanford and McCain campaign veteran, also is on the team.

Huntsman's announcement comes after news Monday that he did not generate enough support in a compilation of political polls to earn a spot at a Labor Day candidate forum that U.S. Sen. Jim DeMint is putting on in Columbia.
