Ten workers from the state'sForestry Commission are going for about two weeks to help fight fires in both ends of the state.

One team will help fight fires in and around the East Texas towns of Marshall and Henderson.  The other crew is headed to West Texas to fight a fire near Abilene.

Since May, the Forestry Commission has deployed 56 personnel and 25 pieces of heavy equipment in response to out-of-state resource requests.  The South Carolina workers have been helping to fight fires in Georgia, North Carolina and now Texas.
