RICHLAND COUNTY (WACH) - It's a project two years in the making, now the Oliver Gospel Mission's new thrift store is finally open for business.

"By having a thrift store, not only do we have something to do with the excess men's clothing, but now we can receive women's clothing, and children's clothing," said Executive Director Wayne Fields.

Oliver Gospel serves men in need at their shelter in downtown.  Some of the men in the mission's recovery program are also working at the thrift store.

"They help with some of the things in the storage and production areas in the back and also help on the truck," said Fields.  "We have a truck that we pick up and make deliveries with."

The thrift store also sells furniture, antiques and appliances.  Fields says many of these items are almost in brand new condition.
