RICHLAND COUNTY (WACH) -- Officials in the Midlands say a suspect is in jail after committing 40 burglaries across Richland County.

The Richland County Sheriff's Department, Columbia Police Department and Forest Acres Police Department announced the arrest of 20-year-old Dantwan Wilson at a press conference Monday morning.

Investigators say Wilson stole electronics, jewelry and cash from 40 different locations.  The crimes were committed at all hours of the day in the Denny Terrace, Woodfield Park, Eau Claire, Bryneswood, Earlwood Park, Heathwood and Forest Acres communities.

Authorities say Wilson was arrested after a lengthy investigation leading them to the suspect's vehicle.

Deputies say they continue to look into this case and additional arrests may be made.

Wilson is being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center after having his bond revoked Monday.
