LEXINGTON (WACH) -- Police in Lexington are searching for a suspect who they say was involved in an armed robbery at Walgreens on West Main Street on July 3.

Officers say 38-year-old James Anthony Loewen is wanted and should be considered armed and dangerous.  Police say he has an extensive criminal background.

Loewen is described as a white male, standing around 5'8" and weighing 195 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.

Officials continue their investigation and say more details of this and other pharmacy robberies may be released soon.
