COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH, AP) -- A Columbia social club is celebrating the renovation of a ballroom dedicated to South Carolina's governors.

The Capital City Club on Friday is marking the rededication of its Governor's Ballroom.

The club opened in May 1988. Its Governor's Ballroom featured an oil painting of South Carolina's eight living ex-governors as well as then-Gov. Carroll Campbell.

Club officials say the Governor's Ballroom is now updated with an additional portrait of the state's governors since 1988.

Sitting atop the tallest building in South Carolina, The Governor's Ballroom overlooks the Vista, the new USC baseball stadium, and the surrounding areas of West Columbia
