COLUMBIA (WACH) -- The South Carolina Corrections Department is hosting a delegation of prison officials from Turkey this week.

The group visited the Camille Griffin Graham and Broad River Prisons in Columbia Wednesday.

The delegation is taking part in a USC leadership training program to learn how American government is structured.

"There is a good prison system in the United States," Zulf Ikar says.  "We would like to learn about the programs; how to, you know, prepare people after prison life."

The corrections department has previously hosted delegations from Iraq and Afghanistan.
