RICHLAND COUNTY (WACH) -- Columbia officials are advising residents on Shop Road to boil their water after experiencing a break in a water main.
The city's department of water works says the 24 inch main ruptured near South Beltline Boulevard, which possibly introduced contaminants to the water supply.
Customers under the boil water advisory include those living on Shop Road between Beltline and Pineview Road, and the surrounding areas. Anyone who lost water pressure or have discolored water is also asked to boil water before consumption for at least one minute.
The advisory remains in effect until further notice. Crews are still working to fix the problem.
