ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) -- Two bridal boutiques in South Carolina are offering military brides a chance to get free wedding gowns.

The Orangeburg Times and Democrat reports Amanda's Collection of Conway and the Bridal House of Charleston are working with the national group Brides Across America. The organization works with local shops to offer samples, overstocks and donated gowns free to qualified brides.

Brides or their fiancDes must be on active duty in the military, either currently deployed or deployed within the last five years to a war zone or Japan. Identification and deployment papers must be presented to qualify.

The Amanda's Collection event is slated for July 11 and 12, while the Bridal House of Charleston' event is set for July 20.
