Columbia (WACH)— The July 4 holiday is a time filled with bbq's, a day at the beach or pool, and time spent with family and friends.  It is also a day to remember the importance of the holiday.

Lexington’s Old Mill, full of shops, eateries and the Watershed Fellowship, the home of the On Stage Productions, where you can catch the musical “We The People,” opening Friday night, produced by Lexington’s On Stage Productions.

We The People, a musical written by Pat Cook and Bill Francoeur, explores the history of America, from the creation of the Constitution through 9/11, and beyond.

According to On Stage Productions Executive Director Robert Harrelson, the play contains music that we all know, and some originals.  On Stage Productions is a community theater, so the actors in We The People are local residents, ranging from 6 years old and up.  Harrelson said that there is also a full chorus and piano accompaniment as part of the company.

We The People runs July 1st and 2nd, and July 6th through July 9th, at 7:30 pm, at the Watershed Fellowship in the Old Mill.  Tickets are $18.00 at the door, and only $7.00 with a Military ID.
