Two lines of severe thunderstorms rolled through the Midlands Tuesday evening. The initial line impacted the northern and western Midlands while the second line impact the central and southern Midlands.
The storms initially impact Saluda and Newberry Counties around 8:30 pm. These storms down tree limbs, trees and power lines. Many facebook friend and television viewers voiced their concerns over the storm. Initial reports of a funnel cloud in Saluda County were later dismissed by the National Weather Service as spotter misidentifcation.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Storm Prediction Center listed numerous wind damage reports. SCE&G listed a little over 6,000 power outages across the Midlands.
