LEXINGTON (WACH) -- A West Columbia man accused of sexually assaulting a woman he met on an online dating site has been arrested in Myrtle Beach.

Lexington County Sheriff James Metts says U.S. Marshals, working with the sheriff's department, arrested Roger Dennis Lee at the Carolina Tarheel Inn Thursday afternoon.  He is being transported back to Lexington County to face charges of criminal sexual conduct, kidnapping and assault.

Deputies say Lee allegedly met his female victim on Saturday at her home after speaking via the Internet. When the pair met in person, investigators say Lee tied the woman up and sexually assaulted her.

"This heinous assault does not fit the values of Lexington County where we value quality of life for all people," Sheriff James Metts said.  "Our investigators will insure that this case will conclude with justice for the victim.”

Metts said after the assault Lee threatened the woman that he would come back if she called police.

Lee has a series of previous arrests including charges for armed robbery and marijuana possession, according to Metts.

A court date is set for September.
