COLUMBIA (WACH) -- The maker of the iPhone and iPad says it will stop allowing applications that notify drivers of police DUI checkpoints.
Apple changed developer guidelines Wednesday after the company says it was pushed by lawmakers to make the move.
With the apps, users can notify other motorists about the checkpoints along with speed traps and other checkpoints.
The Associated Press spoke to an Apple spokesman about the change, who had no comment.
Some of the apps were still available Monday morning, however the company usually gives time for developers to comply with changes before removing them.
