COLUMBIA (WACH) -- A Columbia market is using huge melons to grab the eyes of customers.

Joey Yandle says they have a watermelon that weighs 177 pounds on display in front of Yandle's Roadside Market on Assembly Street.

Yandle says he was riding through a farmer's market, saw it, and had to have it.  He thought it would attract attention and customers.  So far it's working and he's not sure if he's willing to sell it.

"It could be for the right price, but right now we are just going to put it out here and let people take pictures with it and stuff like that.  We might cut it up and eat it later," he says.

The average watermelon weighs in around three pounds.  The biggest on record is over 260 pounds.
