NEWBERRY COUNTY (WACH) -- The Newberry County Sheriff's Office is asking you to be on the lookout for a 33-year-old Prosperity man.

Deputies say William 'Billy' Bowie was last seen Wednesday evening at 246 Point Circle Road.  His family says he was going to play basketball and later called to say he let someone borrow his car.

The next day, his family got alarming text messages from Bowie that led them to believe he may hurt himself.

Bowie is described as a 5'9" white male weighing around 180 pounds with blonde hair and brown eyes.

Bowie drives a 2002 pewter Chevy Trailblazer with South Carolina tags reading HFH519.

If you have any information that may help officials locate Bowie you're urged to call CrimeStoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
