COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Some South Carolina legislators say they weren't invited to Gov. Nikki Haley's end-of-session party at the Governor's Mansion, and at least one says he was turned away at the gate.

Haley spokesman Rob Godfrey said Thursday the cookout was hosted by the governor's husband and the Haleys have the right to decide the invite list to their home.

Democratic Rep. Boyd Brown of Winnsboro said he assumed all legislators were invited Wednesday night, but a security officer told him he wasn't on the list.

Brown says he's not sure what he did to be excluded.

Rep. Leon Howard says he was among legislators who didn't get an invitation. The Columbia Democrat says Haley was petty in snubbing some lawmakers.
