ORANGEBURG (WACH) -- During an Orangeburg County bust Monday, deputies seized several illegal poker machines, nearly 100 cases of beer and cigarettes.

The undercover alcohol investigation happened at Garrick's Grocery on Norway Road in Norway.

Owner John Garrick was charged with the sale of beer without a license and a minor in possession.  Sharon Garrick was also charged with the sale of beer by an unlicensed person and will be charged for having illegal poker machines.

“We have received repeated complaints about Garrick’s Grocery having illegal poker machines, selling alcohol without a license, and selling beer to minors, Sheriff Leroy Ravenell says.  "We will continue following up on complaints received by this office and conducting investigations to force businesses into compliance or shut them down.”
