RICHLAND COUNTY (WACH) -- Charges have been changed against a man who was originally accused of attempted murder.

Earlier this week, Richland County investigators say 20-year-old Quintin Wallace Jr. turned himself in after being wanted for firing shots into a car that was said to have his 19-year-old pregnant girlfriend and her 3-year-old brother inside.

After further questioning, deputies found that Shakira Lyles had lied about being in the car.  She is now charged with a felony of filing a false police report.

Charges against Wallace have been changed to malicious injury to personal property and unlawfully carry of a pistol.

Deputies say Wallace and Lyles were fighting at the time the shots were fired.
