COLUMBIA (WACH) -- A bond hearing was held Friday morning for the woman involved in a fatal Columbia crash that happened at a busy intersection Wednesday during rush hour.

Twenty-year-old Mary Reames' bond was set at $100,000.  Investigators say she ran a red light in a 2002 Ford Escape and hit two vehicles at the corner of Assembly and Whaley streets.  Police say she was driving under the influence at the time.

One person died as a result.  Richland County Coroner Gary Watts identified the man as 71-year-old Billy Dean Randal of Lexington.

An attorney described Reames as a hard working college student Friday and said she made a bad decision.

Reames is currently being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.  A judge ordered Reames can't have any contact with her family in Friday's bond hearing.  She also lost her license as a result.

The Columbia Police Department and Richland County Coroner's Office continues to investigate this crash.
