COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Richland County sheriff's deputies and police officers from the city of Columbia are doing double duty as servers to help raise money for the Special Olympics.

Sheriff Leon Lott says some of his deputies are teaming up with police form Forest Acres and Columbia for a "Calabash and Cops" event Friday at Fatz Cafe in Columbia.

The officers are helping servers take care of customers during lunch and dinner, with all of their tips going directly to the Special Olympics.

Officers are also donating tips collected during similar activities Thursday.
