COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Spring means it's time for the Southern Plant and Flower Festival.

The annual event starts Thursday at the Pee Dee State Farmers Market. The four-day festival offers a wide variety of plants, as well as lawn and garden decor for sale.

There will also be exhibitors on hand selling a wide variety of plants to spruce up any yard, get started gardening or add some curb appeal. There will also be a booth for Clemson Extension's Master Gardeners to answer gardening questions.

Organizers say the Southern Plant and Flower Festival is great for the novice or experienced gardener. Admission and parking are free.
