ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) -- Orangeburg County officials have asked state investigators to look into the finances of the county's sheriff's office after an audit found questions about some of the agency's bank accounts.

The audit from the 2009-2010 budget year found 11 accounts that were never included in financial statements. The accounts contained more than $220,000.

Orangeburg County Administrator Bill Clark says he asked the State Law Enforcement Division to investigate the accounts. The sheriff's office also asked for a SLED investigation.

Current Sheriff Leroy Ravenel is cooperating with the investigation. Former Sheriff Larry Williams was in charge during the budget year being questioned. He died last September.
