FORT JACKSON, S.C. (WACH, AP) -- Fort Jackson officials say a 15-year-old admitted to making up an abduction claim because he did not have his parents' permission to leave the base.

Fort Jackson spokesman Pat Jones says the teen voluntarily left the installation, but the teen still claims he was robbed at gun-point and left in a parking lot.

Jones says the alleged robbery is now being investigated by the Richland County Sheriff's Department.

Originally the teen claimed to have been abducted from the Coleman Gymnasium on base, robbed at gunpoint and left in a parking lot outside the base.

The teen will not face any charges from Army law enforcement.
