Filling out brackets at work

COLUMBIA (WACH) -- March Madness is here. Starting Thursday, 16 NCAA basketball games will run back to back from noon until midnight.
Some estimate a total of 8 million working hours will be lost around the country by Friday as workers who are stuck at their desks try to catch a glimpse of the action.
USC Professor of Management Robert Ployhart says those numbers are a little overblown.
"The question comes down to really if they're watching at the expense of working," Ployhart says. It's one thing to have the game online while you're working. It's another to be sitting around with a group of people at the expense of work."
Ployhart says even if workers slack off on the job watching hoops, they're likely to make that time up by coming in early or staying late.
