COLUMBIA (WACH) - Jason Munn is gearing up for March Madness. He says no other sporting event can compare.
"Just the excitement, the Butlers, the NC States. Everyone has a shot, win or go home."
It's exciting for Antwan Sumter too. The manager of the Carolina Ale House in Columbia says next to the Super Bowl, this is one of the busiest events of the year.
"Last year I think sales went up 10% during March Madness."
This year, the tournament is available on four different channels, streaming live on the web, and on most mobile phones.
The interactive options may discourage folks to venture out to a place like the Ale House. Sumter hopes to lure some of those couch potatoes with drink specials and prizes for those who make the most correct picks in a free bracket.
Munn's favorite team, the Oregon Ducks, are not in this years bracket. He still plans on following the tournament.
"I think BYU is going to be tough even though they lost their guy, we'll just see what happens," adds Munn. "I'll be cheering for the Pac-10, I know they'll be underdogs."
Sumter and his staff depending on customers like Munn to help them score a slam dunk this tournament season.
