SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) -- Officials in Spartanburg County are getting together to talk about how to combat gang issues in their area.

The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office Gang Unit is hosting a forum on gangs Wednesday. Local prosecutors, the Spartanburg Public Safety Department and the Department of Juvenile Justice are helping sponsor the event.

Organizers say community leaders and youth from all over the county are invited to start a dialogue on gang-related issues and how they affect Spartanburg's young people.
