FLORENCE COUNTY (WPDE) -- A Florence County chicken farmer says someone intentionally unplugged fans at his farm killing at least 20,000 of his chickens.

Gerald Coward called police after finding the dead chickens at his farm on Bluefield Road in Scranton. He owns the farm and raises chickens for Pilgrim's Farms.

Coward says the deaths of the chickens will cost him about $30,000 in damages. He can't understand why anyone would want to intentionally harm them. "It'll just set you back a while and I don't really know why anybody done it. I don't know anybody that I've really bothered, but I'd like to know who he is," Coward said.

The Florence County Sheriff's Office is investigating. At this point, they aren't saying if they have any suspects.
