COLUMBIA (WACH) -- The city of Columbia honored a marching veterans awareness campaign Tuesday.

Mayor Steve Benjamin awarded a proclamation to U.S. Marine Veteran Lance Robinson.

Robinson is marching across the country to honor those who serve their country.  He is trying to travel to every state capital to rally support to make September 10 a new day of honor: Brother to Brother Day.

It would be a day of reconnection for veteran and active duty personnel.

"Not only do I honor military men and women, I also honor firemen and police officers.  We are sacrificing everyday by being deployed in the communities," Robinson says.

Robinson is the sole advocate of the Brother to Brother National Campaign which he created to raise awareness for veterans and those serving in the military.
