SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) -- A Spartanburg County man has been sentenced to life in prison without parole in the stabbing death of a teenager.

Prosecutor Barry Barnette says 35-year-old Supreme Ackbar of Wellford was sentenced Wednesday after a jury found him guilty of murder.

Authorities say Ackbar stabbed Ricky Kelly of Spartanburg a number of times in the neck, face and upper body while Kelly sat in his car in September 2009. Witnesses said Ackbar put on gloves before the attack and left the scene in a car.

The man driving that car has also been charged with murder. Marcus Allen Wright of Wellford testified that Ackbar jumped into his car and that he later dropped the man off at a nearby business.
