COLUMBIA (WACH) -- A new health clinic is open in the Midlands to help men as part of Monday's National Black HIV AIDS Awareness Day
Adams Place is a new male clinic at Palmetto AIDS Life Support Services.
The clinic offers HIV and STD testing, counseling and support groups, and referral services.
Staff say they see a high rate of sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV, among men in the community.
"We want to make this clinic a comfortable place for men to come to get their questions answered about their sexual health and sexual health needs and find out information about behavior changes and find out what adjustments they may need to make to their behavior and stay healthier," says Carmen Hampton Julious of Palmetto AIDS Life Support Services.
The clinic is located at the corner of Two Notch Road and Covenant Road in the old Midlands Center Shopping Center. They provide services Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and the first and third Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
