COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- City of Columbia officials are holding an event to bring awareness to heart disease in women.
Councilwoman Tameika Isaac Devine has been working to put on the city's first year of participation in the Red Dress Campaign.
On Monday, Devine is bringing together women serving in elected office and as business and neighborhood leaders to take a picture in city council chambers. Participants are invited to wear red, and the photo will be displayed on the city's official website.
National Wear Red Day was on Friday, February 4. The American Heart Association holds the event every year to raise awareness about the dangers of cardiovascular disease in women.
