LEXINGTON (WACH)  --  Teen set to be discharged after attack by pit bull. Just last week two kids were attacked in Lexington.

The attacks are shedding light on the nature of pit bulls.

According to Lexington County officials a thirteen year old boy was attacked Wednesday along the intersection of Rawl Road and Barretts Way.

The teen was walking home when the attack happened.

The owner of the pit bull was charged with two counts of violation of restraint and confinement.

WACH Fox talked to a pet counselor at Pets Inc to get a better understanding about pit bulls.

Hannah Bauchet says pit bulls are not supposed to be aggressive and hurtful animals. Bauchet says any dog that is not exposed to other animals and people is going to have an aggression problem.

In a separate incident a nine year old girl was attacked by a pit bull on Thursday.
