Gas prices remain mostly unchanged going into holidays

COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Gas prices have dropped over last week, but not by much.

According to ColumbiaGasPrices.com, local averages fell .6 cents per gallon putting the current average in the Midlands at $2.78.

That change compares to last year at the same time when the price was 38.2 cents and 13.8 cents higher than one month ago.

South Carolina is currently ranked with the fifth lowest gas prices in the nation.

The current national average sits at $2.97 per gallon.
