FLORENCE, S.C. (AP) -- Trial has been delayed for a South Carolina lawmaker accused of failing to pay taxes on time.
The Morning News of Florence reported the trial for Florence Rep. Kris Crawford has been postponed indefinitely.
Crawford was scheduled to go on trial Monday on three counts of evasion of a tax or property assessment or payment and four counts of failure to pay taxes, failure to file a return and keep records.
An indictment states Crawford intentionally failed to file quarterly estimated tax payments and timely income tax returns between 2004 and 2007.
Crawford says he's a victim of poor work by the accountant he hired to handle his financial matters.
He was arrested in April.
He won re-election last month.
