COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Community activists are holding a public round-table discussion on issues that affect retirees in South Carolina. The SC Alliance for Retired Americans is holding its annual convention on Saturday in Columbia. Items on the agenda are health care and the upcoming legislative session that convenes in January. Group president Julie Harbin says over a half-million South Carolina children will be without health care if state government leaders opt out of federal matching funds for Medicaid. State Rep. Joe Neal and Frank Knapp, president of the SC Small Business Chamber of Commerce, are scheduled to participate in the discussion.
