COLUMBIA (WACH) - 6th District Congressman James Clyburn announced he's running for House Minority Whip, just days after his party lost control of the house.
"My record of leadership in our Caucus has prepared me well for the challenges ahead," Clyburn says.
Clyburn is expected to challenge Rep. Steny Hoyer, D-Md. for the post. Clyburn is the outgoing majority whip, a post he's held since 2007.
Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Ca. indicated via twitter she intends to run for House Minority Leader.
