LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC (WACH) -- The Lexington County Sheriff's Department will host their second annual Halloween Trail of Treats for kids. The event will be at Wildcat Hollow Stadium on Ball Park Road near Lexington. The Halloween Trail of Treats will begin at noon and end at 4:00 p.m.
According to Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts, Deputies will decorate patrol cars and other law enforcement equipment as part of a trunk or treat competition. Local businesses will join in on the fun and decorate work vehicles in a Halloween theme for the competition. WACH Fox News' Brian McConchie will be one of the judges for the contest.
Deputies will conduct demonstrations for participants. The Department's Aviation Unit, Bomb Squad, K-9 Unit, Special Weapons and Tactics Team will also be on hand with information and displays.
Former running back for the Carolina Panthers, Stephan Davis, will autograph photos and other items at the event.
Food items will be on sale or participants can bring one non-perishable food item in exchange for one hotdog, chips and a soft drink. All proceeds from the Halloween Trail of Treats event will benefit Lexington Interfaith Community Services and the Nancy K. Perry Children's Shelter.
Parents or legal guardians are asked to accompany children attending the Halloween Trail of Treats event.
