COLUMBIA (WACH) – The South Carolina football squad moved up in the national polls following its 21-7 win at Vanderbilt on Saturday.

The Gamecocks (5-2, 3-2 SEC) are ranked 17th in both the Associated Press and USA TODAY/Coaches polls released Sunday.

They moved up two spots in the A.P. poll and three notches in the coaches’ poll after being ranked 19th and 20th in last week’s polls, respectively.

The Gamecocks are the highest-rated two-loss team in both polls and the only team from the SEC Eastern Division in the Top 25.

The Gamecocks return home this week to host the Tennessee Volunteers (2-5, 0-4 SEC). The game is set for 12:21 p.m. on Saturday, October 30, at Williams-Brice Stadium.

The game will be televised on the SEC Network.
