COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Richland County sheriff's deputies are taking their safety awareness campaign to the bank.
Sheriff Leon Lott says his department is holding an armed robbery demonstration on Friday at a Columbia bank.
Lott says deputies will conduct a mock armed robbery and talk with reporters about robbery prevention and being a good witness.
Lott says October is National Crime Prevention Month. His deputies are conducting weekly demonstrations to help educate citizens about keeping themselves safe.
