COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Craigslist.com has closed the adult services section of its website.

Attorneys General from more than one dozen states, including South Carolina's Henry McMaster, led a crusade against craigslist's sex ads.

A black bar with the word censored is no in place over the controversial section.

The move comes after years of pressure and a critical open letter from 17 attorneys general in August.

It's not clear if the shutdown of the section is permanent.
