COLUMBIA (WACH) -- White Knoll high school is under the microscope for alleged abnormalities in an athletic account.
Lexington school district one officials noticed the problem during an internal audit.
“It does not appear to be lawful and unauthorized but until we get into it further we won't know if any one or ones have violated the law,” says Sheriff James Metts.
Metts says his department is looking into the discrepancies within an athletic booster account at the high school.
Metts says they're still in the early stages of the investigation, and right now they don't know if a crime has been committed.
“We’re going through the process of talking with people and also receiving financial records. That will help us better understand how the money was obtained and how the money was spent and until we look at that in full detail I can't say if any laws have been violated or not,” adds Metts.
