COLUMBIA (WACH) -- WACH Fox News is looking into why so many people are running across traffic on SC-277 instead of using the James Clyburn Pedestrian Bridge.

Dr. A.V. Strong, of Project Gang Out, says it could be because of a gang presence near the bridge.

Strong says that's why so many people avoid the area.

"A lot of people in the community have told me they don't feel safe going across that bridge due to the gang involvement," he explains.  "Some have told me gangs are making them pay tolls to go across that bridge."
