SENECA (AP) -- Federal regulators are monitoring a nuclear power plant in South Carolina after a minor problem with one of the facility's three reactors.

Nuclear Regulatory Commission spokesman Joey Ledford says indicators for Unit 3 at the Oconee Nuclear Station went blank around noon Wednesday.

Ledford said NRC inspectors are staying onsite for now. Ledford says reactors are operating normally, and no one was in danger because of the indicator problem.

A Duke Energy Corp. spokeswoman said a fuse blew during routine maintenance and the unit remained fully operational. Sandra Magee said the indicators are alarms that assist in monitoring and do not affect plant operations.

Duke operates three nuclear stations in the Carolinas.
